Jim Anderson

For reasons that may only be known to him, Jim took his own life a couple of weeks ago.

Jim was a close friend to Bob Barber and Tim Bureau of Michigan, and the trio often traveled together to see Tull. I was fortunate enough to meet Jim for the first time on Ian's 50th birthday in Boston. How fondly I recall the dinner we shared (the three of them, our other friend Tim from North Carolina, my brother Tony, and I) at Anthony's Pier 4 that day.

A particularly special set of memories comes from November/December of 1999 and a Tull trip to England: Jim, Bob, Tim Bureau, Rick Bailey, Bill Soper, our dear Jeroen, Tony, and I. We had a blast catching five Tull shows in London and environs. Jim, Bob, Jeroen and I shared the non-smoking car, scads of tunes, and a ton of laughs.

I just saw Jim with Bob and Tim when we were in Washington, DC in April for Tull. I didn't realize beforehand that Jim was going to be with Bob and Tim on this trip, so when I saw him at John Harvard's it was a real treat. Bob had planned on traveling to Chicago to see Tull with Jim this week; sadly, Jim watches Tull from above now. He will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.
